| I am looking to pick up a new pounder rod before opening day and would like to know your thoughts on advantages of the 2 piece rod compared to the telescopic rod. I've never owned a telescopic rod but prefer a rod for storage that isn't a 1 piece. If you can give me any thoughts it would be greatly appreciated if it pertains to these rods. |

| For big baits like that get a 9'6" Shock and Awe telescoping. I've been using telescoping rods for a long time now and have had zero issues with TI, Chaos and Okuma rods. |

| My preference has always been a two piece over telescoping for one reason and that is portability. Taking a stick and having it reduce itself to half the overall length accomplishes exactly what both of them intend to do but with a two piece that space is reduced even more.
In the early 2000's, Diamondback had a two piece rod blank that was my favorite blank. I am working on a two piece blank with some of the same exceptional qualities that can be built to 10 feet in length. I hope to have the final version in hand before the MN show.

| I use telescopic and 2 piece musky rods.
The 2 piece rods I have are from Tackle Industries and St. Croix. I guess St. Croix d/c'ed their 9ft 2-piece rods?
Tackle Industries 2-piece rods have a 50/50 split which makes them extremely portable/packable. Most telescopic rods close down to around 7ft6in, so there is a big difference in size. Performance and strength wise, you won't notice a difference.
