Posts: 3876 | Heya, I'm hoping for your considered opinion on this idea.... I've retired to southern climes and won't use most of my musky gear ever again. I want to gift around 60 lures to young rapscallions who can't afford much rite now. But they can't have them for free, they have to work them off by picking up trash at and from the lake. This allows me to help upstarts and the waters we all love so much. hmmmm....what do you think?

Posts: 323 Location: Elk River, MN | Great idea, like Brian said I'm sure you could contact one of the MI chapters and arrange such an event. I know a few MN chapters arrange an annual ice clean up towards the end of the season and pull a disgustingly large amount of garbage off the lake each year. It's a great way to learn to respect and appreciate nature Edited by Espy 1/22/2018 9:11 AM

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | I've got a 3 year old who is flat broke. I promise I'll hold onto them and make sure they work for the next 5-7 years as he grows! ![]()

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | I know a muskies inc chapter near your old home that would be able to sell them for you and donate the proceeds to FOWL to help them with their youth fishing. http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153-10369_46675_57592-244350--...

Posts: 8797 | There are a lot of lake associations out there looking for volunteer help. Spend the day at the landing, get some free lures. That would probably be really easy to coordinate, since a lot of grant money depends on filling those volunteer hours.

Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | The Capital City Chapter has a used bait sale at the WIFISHINGEXPO.COM show at the end of February each yr. Anybody can donate fishing gear and proceeds go towards stocking. We also see many kids checking and buying heavily discounted baits.
