| For many years I have fished Kabatogama, Namakin, Crane, Sand Point. All are connected by a #*^@ to Rainy. I have heard of very few Muskies being caught below the #*^@ at Kettle Falls. There have been a few, and there have been a few small ones caught the last couple of years. Why isn't there a fish-able population of Muskie in Kabatogama? With Muskie in nearby Vermilion and also Rainy I would think they should also be in Kab.
Is it as simple of no stocking program? Any thoughts? I know there are plenty of Whitefish for forage. |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Its probably a Google Maps problem, e.g., they got detoured because of traffic or construction.
Seriously, ask the local fisheries biologist.
Have fun!

| There really isn't much a population of muskies on that end of rainy, I have spent multiple weeks a year fishing out of Kettle Falls every year since 2000 and nobody I know has ever even a seen one. Rainy is huge, it is no surprise they are not caught all over the lake just do to size and complexity. Even it they were that far east, going up the #*^@ into Kab would be quite a evolutionary adaptation. If they are going to get to Kab, I would think the only chance would be to come from Crane. |
