I like crankbaits that wander or search (don't track straight but kick out sometimes) what are some of the brands you have done well with?

Less a brand thing more an individual lure thing some have it most don't. Sometimes it can be created with a slight bend up or down with the line tie. The best ones are just for some unknown reason born that way then sometimes they will get caught in the net and loose it never to be regained.

Headlocks and Mattlocks will consistently wander. I'm really impressed with the action on the Supernatural Liplocks, blew me away.

Like ninja said, Headlocks and Mattlocks from Supernatural have a consistent wander. However, it is very individualized to the lure. Even all my supernatural baits act a little different. Every lure out of the box is different. Some you may be able to tune to how you want. others you may find work like kings straight out of the box.

Countdown Sharks have been very good to me both casting & trolling for suspended fish.

Supernatural stuff wanders a lot, but is somewhat speed dependent and each bait starts to wander at a slightly different speed, with Mattlocks working at a slower speed than Headlocks.

Jointed Believers wander for me. Get them moving quick and your rod time will dance about the same as a Headlock.

I just got a Slammer 10" Shallow Shad and ran it a little last weekend. It seemed to wander a bit too, probably because of the big sweeping wedge style bill.

Another trick besides the line tie bend is to bend the hook hangers. Bend one to the right, one to the left. That little bit of off center weight from the hooks will cause wander and belly roll, though not extreme. I need to start experimenting with this more. I'm thinking of adding just a little weight (1/8 oz maybe) to the shaft of the outer hook point...I *think* it may destabilize it even more.

Jointed scatter raps wander like crazy. If only they made them in muskie size baits. They work dynamite on trout and salmon when they are up top early in the year. I've heard they are good walleye baits too but I don't target eyes much.

Supernatural stuff wanders a lot and there are a lot of copy cats out there now. I pull headlocks or when everyone and their brother is pulling headlocks I'll throw on the Lees Lures Pelagic aka Leelock.

A magnum shad rap or similar bait with a scatter lip would be amazing.

Paul Fec's Scatter Hammers are a good option and great bait. I own 3 sizes of the scatter series and they all wander nicely.

Believers and jointed believers consistently wander. Also the .22 short will wander anywhere past 3.4mph.

The H2O Barbarian is 7" wandering lipless crankbait. 2 "line ties" give you a choice of action & depth.

Headlock of course, but maybe I missed it, but nobody mention Ziggie's Lures. 6" and 8" solid body are awesome!

solarfall have make something visually way nicer than all the hunting cranks i have seen for now,i have no idea how they run,but they have the curved lexan lips like the scaterap.so they must swim like champs

Fudally made a giant Bass-O-Reno style lure. Lots of wandering in its action.

the straight Ziggies go all over at the right speed. Really buoyant body. 6" and 8". How about a J-Plug? Somebody should make a giant one. Might be a problem with ugly hookups though.

The baits I have that consistently wander are
1. my three 10" Believers, both jointed (I have two) and the straight one (though my one straight one walks less aggressively than my two jointed)
2. J Bo Baits Cover 6 - the two I have both wander, "softer" than the believers but equally wide. Both of them wander slightly different from each other
3. 12" Custom X, I have one, which wanders in a "soft style" compared to my other wanderers, one of my favorite baits and I will cry the day when it is chewed to bits (will happen some day as it gets hit so hard and often each season) or retired in some tree-stump or other place impossible to recover from...
4. Cisco Kid 1800 - all ciscos can be tuned to wander, at least all cisco kids I've ever owned, right now I actually don't own one, but, by tuning the lip they can (in my experience) all be tuned to wander in a very aggressive manner.

kind regards /peter
