Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Fall is coming, time to pull out the big rubber (hey now). Question though: when you use each of the most common types of big rubber baits (single tail, multi, or paddle)? I've been told the paddles come out when the fish are the most negative but... |

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | If you're now just pulling out the big rubber you've missed some of the best fishing of the year.
Situations where I prefer each.
Single tails - Open water/deep water, clear water, night fishing
Multi tail - Weed edges, shallow water (under 10'), stained to dirty water
Paddle - Depends on the paddle, subtle paddle tails match the single tail description and the ones with more thump and roll match the multi tail. When they're going on big blades and shut off, like they'll often do mid-day, the paddle tails shine. |
