Location: Kronenwetter, WI | So I'm picking up my 619 with a brand new 200 suzi tomorrow. I asked the dealer if pulling a tube after the break in period was ok. He replied that actually pulling a tube would be the perfect break in BC you wide open to get on plane then often changing speed and Rpms.....I'm worried about just doing that for break in. He said just make sure it's warmed up good then tubing would be a perfect break in....hmmmm |

I'd follow the recommended break in procedure before doing anything further. Why risk a brand new motor to something that can wait a day or two while you go through proper break-in?

| New motor break in, first two hours you will want it up to temp and cooled down to air temp 4-8 times, you never trim up, vary rpm not to exceed 4K for the first hour and 5k the second hour except random bursts of wide open for less than 20 seconds. It's something like that for mercury optimax. I would have no issues pulling a tube after the first 15 minutes of run time. The reason you don't trim up is to labor the motor to seat the rings, in aspect of 3000lbs of boat pulling a 200 lb tube with kids on it ain't anything. |
