Posts: 96 Location: Pewaukee | I've been out with a guide up there and would like to try it myself. I don't own any trolling setups. I'm looking for a nice (but not break the bank) set up for trolling Greenbay. I'd like a line counter reel that works. What length and weight rod would those of you who do this recommend? Thanks

Posts: 20255 Location: oswego, il | Lots of info doimg a search here. I like the berkely big game rod you can get at walmart for 22 bucks. Has a long handle and would handle baits trolled there. Okuma convector 20D, 30D, diawa sealine 27, 47 reels will work. You are not in a ton of money with this setup.

Another option Shimano TDR Heavy 8ft rods can be had for around $30 bucks as well. And exactly what ToddM pointed out on the reels.

Posts: 96 Location: Pewaukee | If I'm running baits like shallow raiders and jointed believers, most of my baits probably run 2-4oz. I'll also be running some weights a head of the lure. Would I want a Heavy or Medium Heavy rod with the TDR?

Posts: 676 Location: Wisconsin | I got some Daiwa Wilderness for 15 to 20 bucks. Works great. Reels I have picked up Okuma's, Daiwas and Abu, try not to go too cheap on reels.
