Location: Hayward, WI | I wasn't with the MuskieFIRST group but was fishing out of Morson during the same time for 3 1/2 days. After Wed, we had boated 11 with the biggest being a 52" beast which was a personal best for my partner, Jordan Dahl. (Pictures are coming). Next biggest was 47" caught by Dusty Carlson who also lost a 50"+ fish on a rod breaking hookset. After the rod snapped, the fish took advantage of the slack line and shook his bait.
Early in the week we had a decent bucktail bite but as the week went on we had to back off the structure a bit and go big and slow with believers and bulldawgs. Could not get much to look at topwater all week which is very unusual for LOTW.
Was supposed to meet up with GregM Tues. afternoon to find out how the MuskieFirst crew was doing but he was a no show. Where were ya Greg?

Location: Bagley,MN 56621 | I was sleepin, srry dude, but we were out from 5:30 until 2:30 that day with the most incredible topwater action we have ever had.
Dying to hear of the total number of fish caught, but as of thurs nite ( I left fri at noon, a day early) there were 120 ish.
I won't steal anyones thunder (a.k.a JohnMD), but a PIG was caught and I know of 2-48's,2-45's and some lower 40's.
LOTS of numbers, mostly on topraiders and rad dog/violent strike types and bucktails.
I persoanlly boated 8 (7 topraider/ 1 ToddM tail), best ever in all 6 trips to the woods. My biggest was only 36" and never really encountered anything bigger than 42 (guessing). Couldn't get a tanker to show herself,unlike July.
It was a blast, had a lot of laughs in the boat with Kly's little crossover dude.
Amazing how close and accurate you had to cast in the smallest of crevices or right next to a rock to get a blow-up.
New moon and the crappy (Awesome musky) weather all week gave us tons of action. 14 topwater blowups alone for PapaJoe and myself in 4 hours one evening.....10 more the folowing morning in the same spots. 3 fish in 6 casts in 15 minutes for Matt and I right before dark another evening,all on topwater.
Was my second time at Sab Bay Lodge, again great hosts and accomodations in a great area!! |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | I'll second what Greg M. said. Wife and I left early Friday morning sounds like they caught a few more on Friday as well.
It was a great time with a great bunch of people, Debbie and I really enjoyed ourselves. There will be some good fish stories to come for sure...some guys including Mike and Mouser had some good action, it was great to see those guys get into some good fish. JohnMD will post for sure as will others.
A wide variety of situations.... real tight to cover, most fish on rocks, some from the weeds including a fatty that Mr. Bluegill got, and a few off of the sand beaches.
I will put in a recommendation for Sabaskong Bay Lodge for anyone looking for a place to stay. Grant, Morley, and their wives are wonderful hosts and helpful with every request.
Stay tuned for more from the rest of the crew, I'm sure they'll check in as they get back home.

Location: Bloomington Minnesota | 17 ( 7 on the violent strike spinnerbait- white , biggest 48" )fish boated between Tundra Mike S. and myself, tried to get us over 150 but blew four fish before we left this morning!Also saw terrific top water action. |
