| Hey guys, just curious, how often does everyone re-spool your musky reels? |

| I usually flip the line on my heavily used rods half way through the season and re-spool after every year. My trolling rods usually see new line every other year. |

Location: Yahara River Chain | The question to you is how much do you fish?
Ii mainly depends on the previous question. If you fish two weeks a yr then you can go yrs without flipping or using new line. I suspect that most on this board goes more often. |

| Once it starts to look warn out, or fray.
Fish with several different reels, and some get a lot more use than others, so it doesn't make sense to change them all each season. |

| I've had original salt and pepper Tuf line on some of my reels for years and years. I retie every day and cut off a foot or two of line when I do that.
The only time I totally respool is when I am running out of line on the spool.
I fish 2 solid weeks on LOTW each year and then a hand full of smaller trips, so I surely don't put as many hours on my reels as alot of guys on this board do.

| Although I fish more for Northerns and Tigers than pure bred Musky's I re-spool as need. When my 832 line gets frayed seem or develops memory that I can't quite get rid by running in back of the boat, etc. No set time. I certainly don't care about whether or not it gets discolored. |

| I'll flip the line when it starts looking fuzzy, and then replace it when the former inside-now outside starts looking fuzzy. Unless we're doing an outing very late in the fall... In that case, all new line all around. New line holds a lot less water. |
