I have seen a lot of discussion on this thread that it is important to find schools of suspended bait or forage fish, then work these areas thoroughly. Topic seems to come up when fishing open water. How does everyone go about finding these shools of bait fish and, once found, how do you work them. I have little experience trolling. The few times I have found schools of bait fish, I trolled my lure through it, then tried to turn around to hit it again with little luck. The best I have been able to do is to identify the depth these schools are at, then select a bait that will run through or slightly above it, then just keep trucken across the open water in hopes of passing more schools of fish. Does this sound right?
