So I Got my first small 15 foot aluminum boat. (Smartliner 150) Its rated to motors of 35 HP.

My problem is that I do not have any experience with anything larger than a Mercury 6hp tiller that we use in our cottage in Sweden, on a old small 13fot row boat.
Never had a problem with the Mercury and they seem popular, but I find it hard to find anything regarding these smaller outboards, vs. the large Verados and the like.

As I like the 6hp Mercury, my first thought was to buy the Mercury F30 ELHPT which is a tiller steer, with power trim/tilt, and the gear shift F/N/R build into the throttle handle.

Are there any one here who use these “smaller” outboards who would like to add any words, if I’m missing something.

Tight lines From the other side of the great pond.

The 30 Merc 4 stroke is a great motor, and will surprise you as far as performace goes.
