Suffix Performance Braid & Suffix 832 Advanced Superline state the same specs.. I have not used 832, but on the first day using Performance with a new reel in high wind, I got the worst backlash I've had in 40++ years. Pretty much my fault, but I'm wondering. Thorne's doesn't carry Performance. Is this line being discontinued or is it shelf space issue or other? A friend is a big fan of J Braid, and yes this a recurring topic on line.

I don't think they are discontinuing it. I was just looking at it at bass pro earlier. Although the largest lb test I saw was 50 lb. I know tackle warehouse has some in 80lb.

I use the 832 alot and have never had a problem with it or power pro for that reason...I used a spool of grand slam and got the worst backlash on a toro S which never happens cost me a new 10" phantom my leader and all the line...line had to be cut off it was so bad and it knotted so hard it snapped my leader and 3rd cast of new phantom and gone...I know guys love the grand slam dont know if I got old product or what but wasnt pleased at all...have power pro and suffix on other tors S and 3 beast and a rOcket and have never had anyhting even close

I switched to 832 this year and noticed worse backlashes than power pro. A few that i had to cut out. Not bad enough that im going to switch back but it does seem to be noticably worse.

It improved for me over time as the line softened.
