Or you can do what I did. Broke my new 8'6" Tooth Tamer about half-way down the spine when I caught it under a cleat. Took it to a local rod builder who couldn't repair, but could turn it into a 2-piece rod by marrying up with a St Croix blank. It will now be 9'4" when complete. That's much better than throwing the whole thing away. I have another 2-piece rod of his that I use and it works well. We'll see what happens when I get it back.

The TI MH blank is I think their best blank... and one of the best MH blanks out there. But that's just me.

I concur and disagree about it being too light.

For small bucktails, no doubt.

Well, no two blanks are exactly alike so maybe i got one of the few that can handle 9's away from and next to the boat.

8' MH ToothTamer is very versatile. I have 2. good backbone to drive hooks home, great flexibility to keep them pegged. great for double 8's and Big Game cranks and I'll throw Suicks with it too. Great Rod for the 8' length. If you go 8'6 or longer, then I suggest go Heavy or Extra Heavy.

The 8' MH Tooth Tamer Rod is my favorite bucktail I have ever used! Used St. Croix for over 30 years and switched over to Tooth Tamer 5 years ago and have never looked back! It is a tough and light weight rod
with plenty of backbone. A great rod at a great price and a solid warranty!
