While fishing my outboard motor started tilting on its own without me hitting the trim switch . Got it to stop by hitting the switch on the motor itself happened twice
Do I have a bad relay ?

Yes! Exact same thing happened to mine... replaced both relays and was good to go!

When it happened to me it was a bad switch. If using the trim switch on the motor fixes the issue it should be that switch.

I would also agree it is the switch. That's what it was on mine when the motor trimmed up by itself.

This was also the reason I installed a master shutoff switch on my starting battery so I could kill the power to the trim circuit.
