| Looking for some advice.
I currently have two older (10ish years) 6' M/H Fenwicks with two Amb C3 and C4.
I'm thinking of getting another rod/reel primarily because of the redundancy in these set ups. While I mainly cast for Musky/Northern I would like something that I could bass fish with occasionally (though not absolutely necessary).
I'm thinking of picking up the Abu Garcia Pro Max combo that Gander sells- does anyone have any thoughts on this? Can the Pro Max reel handle musky? Will blades burn it out? I like that it is geared higher. Finally, its priced well for an alternate set up.
Thanks! |

| A 200 size bass reel with a ratio of 7 to1 is definitly not suited for any muskie size blade, even the smaller size 7 and 8 blades willmeasily burn out any size 200 reel unfortunatly.
Size 200 reels genraly arent suited for 95% of the lures used in big pike/muskie fishing |

| That combo not gonna do it for Musky my man...You be btr suited to get a revo toromax and get a Legend top and tail can def use for heavier bass fishing if you really wanted to but will handle majority of Musky baits you will throw other than big rubber for the most part....If you not wanted to spend that type of cash stick with toromax reel and get a nice TI rod that lil lighter and you good to go....ABU DOES have a nice budget Musky Combo you can buy With an abu Round reel and Rod to match not bad combo to start out but not ideal for bass fishing at all its only $150 |
