If you do a search on the site, there's lots of good information. Lots of good combos, but depends on your budget, what types of baits you run, etc. You don't need to spend a fortune on a good trolling set up fortunately. Shimano TDRs are excellent rods to use for this, paired with an Okuma Convector and you'd be set for years of hard use as a starting point.

Shimano TDR with Shimano tekota 600LC,

under $200 and you have a great setup.

BPS power plus or shakespear ugly stick rod and a okuma convector line counter. Diawa sealine reels are also good and reasonable so are the penn 309 reels but i put bigger power handles on them.

Not necessarily for wire line. Just a reel designed for trolling. You could get set up for about $100 between the TDR and Convector.
