| Any thoughts on this reel for the occasional musky fishing?(the big lures I should say) I'm able to get this reel at a very good price and the specs looks good. |

| That reel looks like a bass reel; the 7:1 ratio isn't optimum for big lures that pull hard, but OK for gliders. I don't think it was meant to toss heavy stuff. Have you looked into the Abu Garcia Maxtoro? It was engineered as an entry-level muskie/inshore reel for heavy lures; lists for $150 and you can probably find it for less. it has a more broadly-useful 5.3:1 ratio. |

| I wouldint throw anything heavier than 3.5 ounces with any size 200 bass reel.
You would have a much better experiance if you manage to finde a maxtoro. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have that reel, and also would recommend the MaxToro. Ended up being the reel I used most last year. |

Location: Southwest Pa | I have 2 pro max reels spooled with 65 and one with 50 stealth. I have them paired up with Abu 7-6 vendettas. They cast and work like a dream. With that being said I only use them for springtime presentations. Burning rattle traps, twitching hj14s casting baby girls and some small depthraiders and jakes you couldn't ask for a better set up! Other than that use I would go with a bigger/more substantial setup. Hope this helps. |
