Posts: 925 | Hey Guys, I have been running on old Navionics Premium North chip 2009 for years in my Lowarance HDS units. Two of the main lakes I fish in MN (Mantrap and Big Lake in Bemidji) were not HD on that Navionics chip. So for years I have also had the Lakemaster MN chip that had those 2 lakes in HD. I was playing around with the Navionics app on my I phone and looked at the lake list and now Navionics shows both of those lakes in HD. I have to assume the mapping is very similar. Does anyone have experience on these 2 lakes with the updated Navionics chip? Thanks - Ball Cap, Midge Moneymaker

Posts: 705 Location: Alex or Alek? | I was on mantrap there last november and was using my phone to try and find the point/flat on the west side of the big part of the lake and it was way off, same thing for the point/flat in home bay. But it was pretty accurate for other parts of the lake. I'm not sure if the chip is different then the phone app though.

Posts: 925 | That's the information I was looking for. The Navionics rep at the Minneapolis Sportshow told me the map on the phone is the most updated. Navionics supposedly updates their info like 2000 times a day and the map is updated weekly.

Posts: 135 | I don't know how it compares to their chip, but the WebApp has some obvious inaccuracies for key structure on Mantrap. http://webapp.navionics.com/#boating@12&key=q~f~GdvhbQ The Lakemaster chip is dead nuts out there...to the point that I could delete almost all of my structure icons from back when I had to self-map the key locations.

Posts: 925 | Totally agree Glaucus. I don't even need to put way points down anymore with the Lakemaster chip. The mid lake humps that are loaded with cabbage are dead nuts on the Lakemaster chip.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | Agreed. All my icons marking out those humps are a half inch to the southeast on the navionics maps!

Posts: 114 | I like it not being detailed. Makes it a harder lake to fish.
