Hey dudes, just wanted to give you all a heads up. I think everything that I sell will go to e-bay from now on. Yesterday I put up some 6" Grandmas. At the same time, my regular e-mail was down so messages were getting sent elsewhere and some were going to the message board.....ask Divani how nuts it got. Anyway, some fledgling muskieteer says he wants them...even though his message says...."I want them Slammers."... and he'll get back to me after work...sometime after 8 o clock...I wait til 8:45 and get nothing, but in the mean time, I also recieve an offer for more money. So being short of cash and living in a free-market society, I take the higher bid. Now I get an e-mail from....I'll leave his name out....saying he'll never deal with me and he'll tell everybody on his favorite boards what a jerk I am,,,,yada yada yada.
I told him that I've GIVEN away more lures than he'll ever buy, and to go ahead and fire away. So if you see anything on any of the boards...I think I posted here and at 101....let me know so I can stand up for myself, though I don't think that I'll have to.

Beav,

Don't let it bother you. Everybody that is anybody on this board knows you, and that you are stand-up peeps. Keep listing them here, and don't worry about some ya-hoo that doesn't show up when he said he would. I'd have done the same thing. Besides, if he's bashing you on any other boards, I'm quite sure he's not reaching that many peeps anyway! LOL

I would encourage anybody that is submitting a bid on something, to do via PM and not e-mail.

No probs. dude...like Shep said, we know your integrity, and hopefully the peep will reconsider his threat, as the tongue lashing to commense would far out weigh anything he could post as to the bait deal!

***I just tried to reply to the bait post, but it appears to have been locked; I guess Whinenola Bars are on sale this week...

Deals go bad all the time, especially in the world of the internet. I too have been known to sell/buy/trade on the boards, this one as well as others. It's a hard deal when people don't live up to their word, and others will complete the deal, especially for more money. All I can personally add is that Beav is a stand up guy, more generous than anyone I can think of on the board, a guy who does things out of the goodness of his heart without provocation. If someone is upset that they lost a bid because someone came up with more money, I hope they can come to terms with the situation, without having to feel the need to bash the character of a very good person.

Beav,

Folks can get pretty wound up when they don't get what they think they should in the time frame they think things should operate within, but that is life. Please don't abandon the forum, our visitors enjoy buying from other visitors here for the most part, and one 'spat' shoudn't change that.

The Buy, Sell, Trade forum is provided for folks to sell items they  have that others might want. There are no terms and conditions other than the $150 limit, so any deal set between two parties is exactly that, between two parties and not the rest of us here. There is a function I have encountered there that one must simply accept:

"YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE"

Applied to several I tried to buy. Oh well, there will be more deals!

Beav- Don't give up the MF Buy, Sell, Trade ship. We all know you're good for your word. Even then you waited until 8:45, so basically he missed the boat and he's mad at you!. Maybe he's using a Zulu clock. Sometime after 8:00 O'clock is pretty ambiguois, did he expect you to wait all night?

Hummph! As for beaver bashing, most muskie fisherman know that while  beavers may appear to be soft, furry, they can be downright vicious and cantankerous when bashed.

beav, I doubt you'll need to defend yourself because I think most people know you and I think we can all agree that you are a straightforward guy. Beav for president!

I have bashed a few beavers in my day. Of course they crossed my trap line and were big furry and had a big flat tail. Come to think of it, this beav does too!;-)

Anybody that could bash this beav has obviously never met the man. Post away, your stuff is well worth your asking prices. Don't let anything get to you.

Woke up this morning feeling PPRREETTYY good...anyone up for a state by state group hug!?:O

***Let me also add this...the ideal scenario would be that ammends concerning this incident could be made in the near future, and that things can be rectified; please don't think I a peace freak or Casper Milktoast, 'cause I too have moments when I can pull the head off a peep and pour a Double Cola down their neck...I just prefer the group hug strategy first...

Beaver,

Looks like it was the Muskyhunter trader page. The disgruntled party replied with his whine should you like to respond.

Thanks for the update Erico, as Sir Worrall alone beat me in responding to "said whipping post". Since the Slammer/Grandma wanter chose to go public, the accusation is now open for public debate, discussion, or a tongue lashing old fashion man style, whichever the reader chooses to indulge in! Looks like we're sitting down for a verbal picnic...how 'bout taking the lid off that basket and passing the accuser some CROW...:O

I think that I'll leave the boys at MH alone. I e-mailed their webmaster and told him that the items were sold and to remove the post. That way the rest will disappear also.
Thank you my friends for coming to my defense. I told the other party that if he tried to drag me through the slime that others would come to stand by my side, and I was correct.
