Posts: 1000 | you could just modify your suick to accept screw in weights

Posts: 1144 Location: Minnesota. | "Yes, actually you can. " -- that's obviously the best way but if you're like me (you're in trouble..) and you have a bunch'a Suicks you can afford to play around with a couple. Haven't done this yet but I've considered using a split ring on the front hook (along with the solder wrap idea) to enable using a 5/16 or so stainless nut slipped down the hook shank then re-attach to vary the weight just a tad. Don't like that? Remove the solder to see. Maybe on the mid hook too?? Or just buy a weighted bait, a better idea. I like to play around and see what you can make 'em do. Note added : I've not found much to actually improve the action. Still, you never know...and i have lots of Suicks to play with!

Posts: 208 Location: North East PA , 20 mins from Chautauqua | By far my best dive /rise bait would be the "ready Eddie" by Ed Latiano but if you can't find one or want to pay for one the Leo lures 9 inch jerk is a great dive rise bait and the six inch model is pretty hard to beat also . Posts: 264 | Check out H2O tackle. Rogger has some great dive and rise baits. Just google H2O tackle and you should get the website link. Very nice quality baits and a few different styles of dive and rise that you typically don't see.

Posts: 386 | Probably Wades Wobblers because they're cheap and fish like them but I rarely throw dive/rise baits.

Location: Eagle Lake Vermilion Bay, Ontario | suicks are suicks and barfighters are bar fighters. both awesome baits . the suicks history and production consistently thru time, generations, and multiple conditions is undeniable. always been a big suick fan and always will. been a main stay and friend in my boat for yrs. like a good friend, one you can rely on. the barfighter while relativley new to the scene is proving it's self quickly. everyone is talking about the weighting making it so special, and ya it has a quique combination of slight rise, slide, and shimmy but try it unweighted in cover...you will quickly be surprised how bouytant and how well it bobs thru the heavy weed and timber cover. herbie

Posts: 118 | I still love throwing the old L&L Exciter and still see fish every year on them. They're perfect for ripping through the weeds.

Posts: 22 | My vote would be for the Lake Fork sand cat. Dive and rise with a shimmy. Great finishes and 3 sizes. Boated a few ski on these.

Posts: 580 | Another vote for a Wades Wobbler, but Bobbie's and Suick's as well. All 3 work a bit differently and each have a time and place. I consider the Wades as a "slash" bait, as I like to pull it hard/fast and accentuate the pause. Works year-round, but seems best as a mid-summer and early fall bait. A Bobbie seems to be most effective with a traditional jerk/pause and the Suick has great versatility, can hardly be used incorrectly.

Posts: 399 Location: WI | Hawg Teasers have a place in my Lakewood. I really like to add 3/8oz bell sinker on the middle hook hanger for an ultra slow rise.

Posts: 267 | I've caught more fish on Wade's Wobblers than any other jerk bait of any kind. Great, and probably now overlooked, bait.
