| Hi guys,
Looking for floor measurement from bow seat post to start of cap. Just wondering how tight it is while standing forward with TM pedal directly in front of you.

Location: Hayward, WI | I'll try to get a measurement for you, but it's pretty tight. I have a Terrova and if I have the bow seat post in I tend to put the pedal off to the side and fish sideways. Not bad, other than having to move the pedal to the other side if switching sides of the boat.
I always had a butt seat installed in my aluminum boats, but the 1760 is stable enough even in rough water that I rarely put the post in. About the only time I do is in the spring if I happen to sit next to a brush pile for bluegills or crappies for a while and feel like sitting. Casting for muskies, I've preferred to leave it out.

I leave my post in but turn the seat around so it is a point of reference more than a place to sit. I do the same thing with my Terrova Foot Pedal as Tucker does. But I normally fish out of the port side over 90% of the time.
Several guys have posted in the past how they have moved the base to the top of the rod locker with an Aluminum plate underneath for support. Some even ordered the boat that way so it is fairly common. I have thought about it but I have always managed fine the way it is.
The one nice change Tuffy could make to the there boats is remove the lip at the entrance to the rod storage so a guy could insert his rods straight in without bending them. They could then in turn shorten the cover to the rod locker, which would allow the base to be moved back.
But it is not that bad, just could be better. |

Location: West Central Wisconsin | It's tight. Mine is 22 1/2" on my 1760GDC. And that was after the dealer moved it back a couple inches. If you're having your's built, you may want to specify the location. If it wasn't for the first hole in the floor, mine could have gone back a little further. Not sure what they were thinking at the factory when they put mine in. |

| It's really tight if you have the front seat in. I'm not a fan of high seats up front and left it out of my 1760 and have yet to try it on the 1890 but it's the same distance.
I believe it was rudy on here that did a mod with his 1760 seat base location. Moved back on to the rod locker lid. Might be worth doing a search to see if that interests you. |

| I ordered my boat with no front pedestal, installed it on the locker lid myself.
plenty of room now

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Question: why do you need the cap? Had this conversation with Worrall yesterday, there's really not benefit to the cap except if you like the look of it. Without you will get more walkable space. |

So if a guy would move forward and move the base to the top of the rod storage, does anyone have a recommendation how a guy could cover up the original spot where the base was so it would work and look half decent?

| With or without the cap doesn't change the room straight ahead in front of the seat. If they made this boat 6" longer adding the extra length in front of the rod locker. Maybe picking up a higher hp rating like the mx1825. |

The 1760 is a 17'6" boat. US Coast Guard rates the HP on the boat.
The 1890 Tuffy is 18' 9". That would be the boat you are suggesting.
