I like blue cheese. I think they did a survey on LOTW where 80% of Muskie preferred ranch while only 20% preferred blue cheese (:
And I don't think casting a 2 pounder is necessary at all, I kind of want to do it just for the novelty of it. It also without a doubt will catch fish. Not only big ones either. But I was just looking for a good rod for large dawgs and medussa's in general not only 2 pounders. But I completely understand what you are saying and I agree that a pounder will be just as effective or better.

I e never thrown or will throw 2#. I do in fall on certain waters throw pounders. I think any of the xh on the market will handle big rubber. Again I learned to leave about 2-3' of line out between rod tip and leader. This has greatly reduced stress on rod and yourself.

exactly even throwing pounder will wear you out a mega dawg were you out. I can throw reg bulldawg or medussa all day but mega or pounder no way...after hour or two ive had enough...I feel like when that pounder hits water it scare anything within 50 yds sounds like a boulder hitting water does this not spook them at all??

Never felt like a 2lb lure splaching down scared the fish away.

As far as pain goes, all jokes aside, i feel like having the right casting movement and the right gear makes the 2 pounder almost as easy to cast as a pounder.

As for how usefull it really is, i belevive lures that size are relevant if you are specificaly looking for 45+ inch pike or muskie, otherwise it doesint have much use in your box.

I use Tooth Tamers XXXH 9'0" Fast with a Saltist 20 LW but it's sitting at the bottom of Vermilion off Jacobsen's Point in about 17-18 fow after I dropped it during the Ramsell outing last year. I'm planning on buying a 9'3" XXH Predator to throw pounders and 2 pounders now.
