Posts: 114 | Has any one tried these? If so, how do they hold up against hook rash? http://www.jigskinz.com/

Those look cool, thanks for sharing. I’m going to try some. Hook rash will be dependent on the epoxy coat I put on them.

I picked some of these up. So far they seem pretty cool. I feel like I’m cheating lol. They are not totally easy, you can see by the front hook hanger I have some figuring out and work to do. Also my thumb is covering a bare spot on the nose I’ll need to blend in. I’m going to put a coat of epoxy on and then do some painting over it. Then finish coats of epoxy. I may paint over the eyes and put my own on too. There’s some printing and logo’s to cover up as well. I think they look great though. Posts: 1937 Location: Black Creek, WI | I know that an epoxy topcoat is the best protection method. However, I'm lazy and don't want to hassle with epoxy coatings if not necessary. Can anyone provide some first hand feedback on how durable these skinz are without an epoxy protective coat?

I can't attest to any durability experience. If you don't epoxy, it's pretty easy to just shrink another one on. Check out the video link, lots of "how to" info on his youtube page as well. I love his testing methods lol About as scientific as when we strength tested baits by lifting the fat guy in the shop from a forklift by the hook hangers

I don't think I'll be giving up my airbrushes anytime soon, but I sure do like the way these wraps look on my lures Edited by MRichardson 11/28/2016 9:01 AM Attachments ---------------- Pike and Roach.jpg (93KB - 444 downloads) Pike.jpg (93KB - 439 downloads) Roach.jpg (93KB - 460 downloads)
