| I'm fishing Lac Seul next august 5th-12th ('17). A group of 8-10 of us are renting a houseboat out of Hudson and traveling up to Merritt point. The outfitter said it's the best destination to catch a giant, plus they said the best sandbar to dock up on is right at Merritt point. The more I research the more wide spread reviews I get. A lot of the suggestions are saying to head toward chamberlain narrows, birch narrows, wapesi bay, pickerel narrows. I've never fished a large body of water like Lac Seul nor has anyone in our group. I'm from Illinois and I fish evergreen and shabbona the most so I've perfected the smaller lakes.
What tips or areas can you suggest for our group? I'd appreciate any input, thanks ahead of time.

| I've only spent one week on lac suel in a houseboat I'm sure three are a lot of guys who have spent time there,,it is very dangerous to your lower units don't be obsessed with speed here,,also a lure retriever is very handy here. |

| Whereabouts did you guys end up staying?
I did hear it's dangerous at Lac Seul, isolated timber, submerged rocks. I'm upgrading my propeller to steel rather than thr standard aluminum so it's less likely I run into problems. But caution will be key.
I'll definitely invest in a lure retriever. Thanks |

only problem there now you hit something hard yea wont damage your prop hopefully but could trash you whole lower end and possible mess up expensive prop...i might have stuck with alum.. and brought back up |

Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | Merritt Point puts you right in the middle of the best of the best. You won't have to go far in any direction from there to score. Just go slow and be careful...good spots are fairly easy to find. Good Luck! |

Our group has taken a houseboat past Chamberlain narrows. Big muskies yes. Weeds and rocks all you need.
Drawbacks:
It takes a day to get there and a day back, so your only fishing five days. Be very careful of rocks going and coming from Wapesi. Also a great place to fish on the bay near the entrance to Wapesi.

| Yeah I know we won't have the full 7 day week to fish but we're going to take advantage of the houseboat shuttle both there and back from Merritt point to fish. It's roughly 200 each way split between 8-10 of us, it's well worth it to get a few hours of fishing in during the 9 hour trip each way.
You had the most success by wapesi? We're going to try fishing for muskies the most at dawn and dusk and 50/50 Muskie/walleye fish during the day. |

| I'm also doing my first houseboat trip last week of August 2017. From what I have gathered from others that have gone there are exactly what you have listed. We haven't decided yet where we will have the boat parked. |

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | I did a houseboat trip up by Chamberlain Narrows. I think in comparison to other lakes (LOTW, East side of Eagle) that navigation wasn't that big of a deal at all and a basic chip was sufficient. I was able to stumble upon a few spots that looked "fishy"...kept throwing proven baits and had some nice encounters, converting a few. I'd love to go back someday |

Location: Elroy, Wisconsin | Andersons rents two outpost cabins above Chamberlain Narrows. pricy. I would not fly in as navigating up there is easy once you have done it. 6-8 guys breaking down the costs would be doable without breaking the bank. The right group could have one heck of a trip.
