One of the very good pros in our area turned me on to this moonchart by a guy who has an uncanny ability to predict fish and game activity,,,so this year I thought I would monitor the solar/lunar stuff just to see,,,according to this chart sunday july 20th was the worst day of the year in 03 to fish has the solar/lunnar fields had their least amount of pull and were the farthest away from the earth. We were out for 4 1/2 hrs and saw two hot fish with one hooked on a figure eight but overall pretty slow has far has following fish seen and I did notice that the birds and ducks were not very active. Dont know if I buy into this moon stuff yet but for you people that were fishing that day how did you do???????????

There were a lot of factors involved but Sunday was terrible for me. Saturday was ok with a few eaters but not many follows.

did not fish that day but july 5 moonrise was at 11:30 am and at 11:15 a caught a 30 and at 11:20 i caught a 42 and at 11:25 partner screwed up a suicidal fish on a terrible figure8 (40 inch class) and at 11:30 other partner hooked a monster(50 inch class) that threw the hooks. after moonrise we had one lazy follow from a mid 30 class fish for the next 5 hours. no i don't buy into moon phases at all. yeah right.

Yesterday was very tough on Lake Michigan during the World Walleye Association tournament out of Gladstone, Michigan. Some very good sticks zeroed, and even the best of the best locals only caught three.

Hmmm...July 20th?! 44" and 38". Another big fish blew up and missed a top water. Plus, 2 nice Pike that went 33 and 35". And 2 nice bass that went 4 and 5 lbs. All action came within 2 hrs on 2 different lures.

Last year, I followed the moon stuff and to tell ya the truth, it was accurate about 40-50% of the time, so I was a believer. This year, while still following it, it has not been on target. My better fishing days this year have come 5-6 days after the full or first moon phases.

Go Figure!

sunday i was out about 3 hours, missed a fish on an undertaker on my first cast of the day and i had a nice low 40's fish lazily swipe at a bucktail 10 feet from me.....short casted back out and she just slowly followed it in and turned away....didnt see her after that

I quit looking at moon charts years ago. I go fishing whenever I can, for as long as I can. If its really pathetic I will use my time to explore new spots and mark them for return on better days. I would be more inclined to watch weather reports. If there is a large front coming in, I will do my best to be on the water just ahead of it. I guess if I planned a trip of a lifetime months in advance, I might consider moon phase. By the way I fished some of the best looking cabbage I've seen all season and never saw a fish Sunday.

It was slower than the day before, but we landed 2 40"ers, and I jerked a DDD right out of the mouth of another about the same size right at the boat.  My personal best, to date, came on Sunday, so I was pretty happy about the results of the worst day of the year.
