While fishing Eagle Lake with Herbie and my wife Lois,Lois hooked up with a monster fish.Started fishing a spine that ran off into 40' of water,in about a 2 to 3' chop, she was casting the canadian side of the stucture with a Dog.About 8' from the boat hebie and I hear" OH MY G**D!!!!!"Its a big one!!!Fish ate the dog( And the fire drill began)all we could see was about 2" of an 18" leader sticking out of its mouth...Lois did everything right after several runs the fish came up on the Lee side of the boat ,and was pinned against the boat,(Lois is yelling at me to get the Camera,.and.someting about womens intuition)....and we couldn't get a clean shot with the net ,Lois tried to manuver the fish for Herbie ,It did one of those Half #@$@@ jumps and the bait came out and hit Lois in the chest....Fish was 55 to 56" long herbie figured it to be in the low 50# range.Herbie did hook up the next day with a 56" fish with another guy from our group (Eian Rintamakie) 56 X22 low 40's fish... Great trip,Lois is calling 48"s dinks now,The only good thing about her losing the fish is I won't have to tell everybody that the replica on the wall is my wife'sLOLOLOL will post a pic of Eian's fish shortly ARTIE Funny how you remember every detail of the one's that get away and not the ones you boat.........

Lesson to be learned,NEVER call for the camera until the fish is in the net

Let me know when in the fall...not likely, yet I will mark it down. Going coastal in mid October, 11-15 I think, a short drive so no probs. E-mail me later!

Congrats and at least the HOOK UP!!!!! I think I know which spine you were fishing and I had one of those big girls off of there take a poke at my topwater 20 minutes after I got my 52 incher two weeks ago! There are some real gems in that water! That Pic of the 56 is awesome!

Well the good news is you know where she swims!
