Posts: 983 | See Lot of guys using the body bait to jig up deep Musky. I dont ahve bondy bait at this point and cant order right now. My question could you use a rippin Dog to Jig up musky like a bondy bait. Seem similiar to me othr than hooks being on btm not top which isnt ideal for jigging bottom but other than that seem lot a like wanted some others opinions before I waste hours trying this.. Thanks guys

Posts: 983 | thanks tkuntz I was thinking this was the case and my local shop doesnt have bondy but has rippin dogs thought they looked awful similiar.. What advantage does bondy have for casting? do you prefer the shallower or deeper circle attachment on rippin dawg

I like the bondy much more for casting because it doesn't seem to plane sideways when pulled horizontally.

Posts: 719 | I do indeed and it will be on our promo video including where some heavy equipment runs it over to show how the aluminum lip stays in place.

Posts: 470 | How do you cast an original Bondy? I've only vertical jigged 'em. What kind of action is used on the retrieve? RandalB

Posts: 1100 | Anything really. Pull/pause, steady retrieve, letting it hit bottom -> reel in 5-6 feet let it hit bottom repeat,

Posts: 719 | Randall, here is a video that we filmed more than five years ago casting the open waters of St. Clair but you really need to find the In Fisherman article called 'Splash Down Muskie' for a more detailed look at casting the Bondy on lakes. It's quite versatile and out of the 24+ tourneys the bait has won, only a few were by vertical jigging it in rivers. The rest were on lakes. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4dEFqNINmLA

Posts: 34 Location: New Carlisle, IN | I just bought the Rippin Dawg too. Bought it to cast and I really don't like the action. It turns sideways and doesn't stay deep. I really like the Bondy for casting. It figure 8's a lot better than the Dawg too. I regret buying the Dawg, I just wanted a red bait and the bait shop didn't have a large selection of Bondy baits.
