Hi guys, just got back from Vilas this past weekend and I have to say that my year has been going on a slow start. Flip opposite of Travis. I came to the conclusion that I need to go to church more because there are things that are going on that are beyond my control. Maybe someone is telling me something. LOL.

But any way my fishing partner saved the day with catching a 31 incher for our match fishing that happened last Saturday. It's by far not the largest fish caught for the year, but it at least saved face for us. He also lost another nice fish on the Triple D after ticking the top of the weeds with it on the up rip. The fish was up on top of the water slashing before he had time to drive the hooks home. I also received a sovenier from a fish while fishing the basin for some suspendos. I got a pop and set the hook with only to bring back a scale back to the boat...may not even be a muskie scale...but with wishful thinking it maybe. I hate to say it, but if my luck continues the way it's going. I'll have a hard time catching the skies this year.

I'll post a picture of the fish after I get the pictures developed tomorrow. I need to break down and get a digital camera. I think in the next match fishing round we will put up a little bigger fish!!!

catch ya later,
Krappie

P.S. Hey Tommy V and the RiverRats how didja do on Saturday?

Krappie, the spring was slow and things will heat up soon. So far it seems to be like it was last year. If the summer stays relatively mild with no big heat wave(a week or two of 90's and 100's) it should be a great summer. It was last year. Besides, if you are 1/10th the fisherman your KID brother is, you should boat a few more fish this year.;-)

I'm basically in the same boat as you Krappie, I've hit the water pretty hard lately, and only one sub-legal to show for it. I think it's a jinx with my Cubs, they are in first place in June!!

Well as Krappie stated the fish was no monster, but a fish is a fish I guess. I will take a small fish if I have to, and it looks like River Rats blanked. Hopefully we will have a better bite in the next round.

Thanks to Krappie for letting me up front of his new Ranger in order to stick the fish...I don't think he will ever let me up front again!! We have some video footage of the beast, but its kinda raw. We are working on getting a nice fish
on video, but I guess we first have to get one on the line.

Boy that is a true fashion statement indeed!!! I might be getting a call from the area Shriners Club. I think I could be the next "Grand Puba".

Man that fish is a monster!!!!
