Posts: 280 Location: US | I've seen a lot of good recommendations for suffix 832 regarding this, have personally never tried it though.

Posts: 118 Location: Minnesota | Suffix 832 does hold much less water than Power Pro or Cortland braid.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Sunline FX2 and it's not even close. The fibers are braided so tight it carries almost no water and dramatically increases durability.

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | All braid will hold water no matter what brand. The newer the line is the less water it will hold. As the line coating starts to wear off from use it will start to hold more water. I try to hold off putting new line on the reel that I'll use the most in the fall just so I won't have to deal with the water as much.

Posts: 555 Location: Tennessee | Sufix 832 has always been good. The new Spiderwire lines I've been using this year have done well too and haven't been too hydroscopic

Posts: 983 | I really like the suffix but I am a really big Fan of the Power pro too...Seems like the powerpro last the longest and holds the least water imo

Posts: 351 Location: Vilas County, WI | I too went away from Power Pro because I thought it was taking on too much water... my new favorite is Suffix 832 followed by Spiderwire Stealth

Posts: 431 | Sunline makes awesome monofilament. I think I'll give their braid a try next based on how much I love their mono on my walleye stuff.

Posts: 1209 | That's a lot of new line! Wow. Anyways lighter line hold less as well. I see a post about 100# necessary any more? I say no. 80# is enough however manny 8" cranks would work on 65# and retain less water.
