I have been looking into buying some beaver baits. Just wondering if a lot of you on here have had any success with these baits, if so what size seems to better the baby beaver or the xl beaver? what seems to be the best way to fish these baits?

I caught a couple of fish at the start of the season, a couple of follows as well. I haven't fished it much since then. Will be starting to use it again this weekend. I've got the smaller version. Good , erratic, slow moving bait... with no weight.
One thing to watch for is the collar holding the bucktail. After a couple of fish I noticed that it had been sliced from teeth. A cable tie fixed the issue.

I bought an xl and used it a few times, I've moved two fish. I added a screw in weight to the head, it's basically a bulldawg. Those two fish came with very short effort But I can't believe it wouldn't eat it.

I have a small version of the beaver, have not seen any fish on it. The lure has some action but definitely not what I was expecting for that price. In all honesty if I could change my mind on the lure I would rather have just bought a few new dogs.

moondog,
I have two, and admittedly don't throw them enough, though looking back I've moved a good amount of fish for the amount of time I actually had them in play. Especially this last weekend.
I bought mine after hearing from the Vermillion Guides about the bite they got on (I think during the Vermilion Dam Lodge Outing last year). Here's a link to the video, it's not the best audio, but interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn_Z8Gjtn7I
If you get one I'd encourage you to get the screw-in weight kit for the front. The bait is really unique and versatile, has a few different applications and ways it can be worked. I think it's worth a try, maybe you should shoot WBL_JL an offer...

I let my potatoes reach adulthood before I eat them, but to each his own.
