Location: SE, WI. | New for 2016 was the 10" slammer shad. Had a chance to run these on a recent trip, and caught several Musky and 20 lb pike. Really liked the way they hooked fish. Thought the nice taper towards the back end helped with hookups. Has a slight walk at slower speeds, but going 4.5-5.2 mph it had a significant walk to them. Its was a Nice alternative to minnow baits, as it ran about 1.5' to 2.5' deeper, than a Jake or Grandma. Few pics of the baits used

Location: SE, WI. | Mak, yes, few guides up in Minny have been doing well on them. I just tried them, so they were new to me. As for colors, I asked Bill for some loud colors?? Nathan, I mostly trolled, BUT, did take a few casts along a rocky shoreline. They did seem to bounce off the rocks nicely, and I rarely got snagged up banging rocks trolling. The bait is not an instant deep diver, so it walked down a normal rocky shoreline with an even slower descend! JD |
