Headed up to the Cisco Chain (UP/Vilas) At what surface temp should I focus on deeper water. Air temps look to be in the low 60's this weekend. I know some good spots on West Bay and Thousand Island lake that have worked in the past for me in 70 plus degree weather( shallower spots 15 ft max). Should I not waste time and find deep breaks and transitions, usually this trip we do later in the month when the weather is colder and nastier . Should I go deep or shallow . thx for any help

Think you gonna have to get to the lake and see conditions.. See if the bait fish have moved up shallow or not. hopefully you got good fishfinder and can experiment with boat..Might have to find the fish..

I think the lakes are still pre-turnover so I would look shallow first (very shallow).

I totally agree with this water temp is still high and no turnover around me in southwestern PA yet...last week the lake was 67.5 degrees and the river was sitting higher than that at 68.3 degrees no turnover here yet at all...just about to get good I think

Turn over started here in northeastern Wisconsin, 58* last night and got a 47" musky on a depth raider. As they say "they are deep, shallow or somewhere between". Day before had a nice one on a bucktail.
