Made in the USA should have more of a buying influence that what it does, a Big Nasty can be had in the 200-275 range in almost new condition on the second hand market.

Sorry..... but nothing compare's to a big nasty or sling blade to other rod companies that manufacture's in bulk. Yes, custom rod makers such as Thorne Bro's and Migizi to name a few make world class rods, but they are more expensive. Guys are going to chime in that didn't buy a SC but went with a other manufacturer and tell you that they are just as good. Yes there are other bulk rod manufactures out there and they do make good rods, but they do not compare to a SC.

 Thorne Bro Predators are SC's...

The best rod on the market and its not even close is the Throne Bros Predator series which comes from a SC blank.

Aren't you basically doing the same here?

If you have ever extensively used the TI rod in question, and can point to some specifics that justify 2x the cost, then I am all ears.

This isn't the 1970's there are a lot of great rods out there from a number of manufactures; all do a fine job tossing baits. I'm thankful for the variety of choices I have, I think I have 4 different rod companies in my collection.

Thorne Bros Heavy Predator w/ 2" off the tip - I will never own another rod for blades after getting one of these.

I bought the one that earlier in the thread James suggested, and a couple of my friends suggested, the 9' XH.

....on a side note, the Telescopic 10'6" was a monster on throwing 8's. I could toss them
into the next county with the wind at my back

I have a TI 9' xh and a 9" ti xxh.
I would definitely recommend the xxh for 9's and up if you dont want to fight the rod in the 8.
get heavier bucktails like rabska blades, pond fork blades, shpanky's, or shmadsons and the xxh is great.
a 9' rod is great for blades until you try 9'6". i'd bet that continues to be true for 10' and 10'6"

PS-Don't forget to try Nick with Jawbreaker Custom rods if your looking. He has all brands of blanks he can build on. He also had the new 96, 10 and 106 Tackle Industries TI blanks.

My jawbreaker 9'6 on the TI xh blank is a dream.

A cheaper alternative to custom or legend t's or elites, would be 8'"6 H premier . Worth every penny in this sport

By figure 8 dream rod on the Custom X, I asume that means it doesn't overly flex and slow you down? As in let's say, the Slingblade?

Exactly. Have them all. Slingblade makes a perfect night bucktail rod or a great crankbait rod. Hulbert Rod is what I use. Not Custom X.

This has my vote. My H -2 Predator is my favorite rod.

You should still have the ultimate big blade rod.
