Which topwater produces more strikes, a walk the dog type lure like the Giant Jackpot or Doc, or a propbait like the TopRaider? I've heard that the walk the dog type lures have poor hookup ratios, if you go with something in the straight line like the Topraider are you going to get less hits? Thanks for all input, Mark

No.  I like jackpots for many situations(was good last week during a cold front situation when nothing else seemd to work), and do ok with hookups(I work it a little slower than most though and the fish miss it less it seems).  I still reach for a prop bait first for most topwater situations.  The Pacemaker has been hot this year(this week especially), as well as the topraider(as it has been for the past few years).

I like prop baits and flaptails because when I throw topwater it's usually to take a break from throwing gliders, which is alot like throwing Jackpots. I like topwaters that I can just throw out and reel in.
