I've had St farm since I got my first vehicle and have had their boat insurance now for about 6 years. Earlier this year I had my trolling motor deploy itself running and filed a claim to repair it. Small claim, no damage to the boat itself. Recently I got a letter that due to this my "risk level" is increased and that they have canceled my boaters policy. So basically I'm being punished for using their service I've paid for. So time to shop around. What are you guys using and how do you like it?

The best in value and customer service by a long shot. Quite a few of the traveling pros use this service for that reason.

I use the same Bob I would argue is the best in the game. He linked me up with progressive but I work through WWM.

This is a great place to start. They insure a number of guides and hardcore fisherman. They are in MSP. Ask for Nate, he catches some ridiculous fish himself, and occasionally takes his clients out on guide trips....

Steve, thanks, I'll save this in case I have issues.

O.P. - I also have State Farm too and per a few auto claims over 35 yrs. plus a house fire a few years back that took half my house, the garage -- e.g my Ranger, all my muskie stuff (in Sept.) and a new Mazda they were outstanding/effortless to deal with.

I might add that we have everything under State Farm so that may have something to do with your claim if you only have marine ins. Dunno there.

That's the thing my wife and I both have had State Farm car insurance with the same office since we were in highschool. Thats the biggest thing that astonished me about them canceling. So they're about to lose two customers and two vehicle policies along with it once I find my alternative.

That's so totally unacceptable man!!

I'd call the main office then ask for the boss and then his boss and go as far up as you can. After that make your decision but if it were me I'd try and hopefully they'll do the right thing for you. That's what ins. is all about.

After that...I'd be too peeed to remain a customer!

Best thing you can do for your pocketbook imho!

Best of luck with this.

I have to give a thumbs up to progressive any and all issues handled fair, honest, and fast without out any rate increases. Out of curiosity what are some rates people paying i have a 2005 crestliner with a 5000 extra rider for fishing equipment and electronics. my annual is $124 it sounded reasonable to me.

+ 1

Bob blew away the rates of a couple other companies that I received quotes from. He gets rave reviews from the bassboat guys too.
