| I was heading up to Canada when my left Carlisle tire threw off about 14 inches of tire tread trashing a fiberglass Rangertrail fender. A close friend who used to be CEO of that Carlisle said I shouldn't take any chances and get new non-Carlisle tires before retuning to Ohio. The tire company in Espanola only had Carlisle and Asa brands. Does anybody know anything about the Asa's?
I know both brands are made in China which probably isn't a good thing.

Location: Minnesota. | Al, so sorry to hear this lousy news. I have a 2012 Ranger Z118 single axle with Carlisle's on her. I pray I don't have this occur.
Can I ask what you plan on doing with your trailer? Send her back to Ranger for repairs?? Can't see what other options you have with such damage. |

| I just got back from Canada yesterday so I haven't got that far yet. I figured either that or have a Ranger dealer buy one and do the work. I not even sure what all needs done. There's cracked fiberglass and ruined gel coat just behind the tire portion and the back mounting pin was pulled through the fender. There may be other problems too.
The worst part is I was seriously considering putting the boat up for sale when I returned. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | If the fender is polyflake, make sure the body shop has experience is spraying flake. Difficult repair, because the process when the fender was built was the reverse of what a repair requires. Or, you might consider an imron paint and do both fenders the same colors. That stuff is tough as nails, but expensive. |
