There will probably be a special session so our politicians can borrow more money to show their districts they're "bringing home the bacon" and this will almost certainly be used as a bargaining chip. The best thing you can do is all contact your local legislators and get involved in their campaigns (or at least talk to them and drop them a $20) and make sure they know you're for the MN muskie plan.
***People who live in the North Metro***
If you live in the Andover or surrounding areas, chances are your Rep is Tom Hackbarth. He is the MN Muskie Programs #1 enemy. He currently has a challenger in Cal Bahr whom he is running against in the primary on the 9th. If you live in this area you MUST vote! To check who's your Rep go to: http://www.gis.leg.mn/iMaps/districts/
Seriously EVERY vote will count on this one. When I mean every I mean 50 votes either way will win this one. Even if your a Democrat, you can vote Republican in the primary. Once Tom's off the ballet we won't have to deal with him for 2 years (or maybe never again). If you're on facebook look up the page "Sportsmen for Bahr" for more details. |
