Had two 2012 Insight Pro's. Lost one. Need to get another for a trip in 2-1/2 weeks. What is a good one to get these days? Also would want it to have HD on the main Minnesota lakes. Thanks.

Ebay usually has pretty good deals on them. I just ordered one for Wisconsin and it was $91 with free shipping. It was also the newest version. If you have a hummingbird go with Lakemaster and Navionics for Lowrance.

Lake Insight Version 14, 15 or 16 West chips have the Sabaskong Bay out into the Big Bay area 1 foot contoured with the navigational bouys and hazard bouys on it. Much north of that you wont' get much. The Version 16 is $159.99 or you can get a Pro Chip and select the regions for $99.99. Lake Insight only work in Lowrance Units too, just an FYI.

My title has it wrong. I have a HDS7 2 and a HDS5 1. Had one Lake Insight Pro 2012 for each. Lost one, They had Sabaskong Bay and most of NW Angle pretty accurate. Just want the latest and greatest for those areas and Minnesota Lakes. Specifically Pokegama near GR, Mille Lacs, Leech, Tonka.

Have looked on Navionics website and Lowrances for some info. I am not the most techy person by any stretch, am a little confused at what they are telling me about all the stuff some of the chips can do. I have the Navionics ap on my phone, do not think they have LOW as accurate as my 2012 Lake Insight Pros had.

Navionics HotMaps Platinum covers all of LOTW and North. Platinum has SonarChart layer, I have had good feedback from folks using Navionics with SonarChart 1’ contours on LOTW

Thanks for the reply. Like I said, I am not the most techy. This SonarChart that you speak of, does it come on automatically when unit is turned on with chip in it? It does work with HDS-1 and HDS-2? I assume it is possible to look at the SonarChart view of Lake of the Woods on the Navionics website? When you say it covers LOTW and north, does it also cover Minnesota? That is also a necessity for me? Thanks again!
