I want start out saying congratulations to all the winners of the Cave Run P.M.T.T event. It's always good see everyone. The last report I gave which stated weekend I forgot to mention the folks that was with me so they reminded me and I told them I would mention it now. Jim and Julie out New Jersey was with me during the hell winds. Now for the new update. I have raised 24 fish since monday and only got 4 in the boat. Actually that is how many hit the bait. These fish come flying and just stop at the boat. I don't what is going on with them. These fronts we have had has got them tore up. The lake is 3 feet up right now. The water temp is anywhere from 64-67. Perfect!! We just got to have the same weather for more than 8 hours. The fish that I have been seeing fish vary between a Manta, Sledge, Bulldog,Spinners mostly 1 ounce. The only pattern that I have is WEEDS!!! Just the work your baits quick don't give them a chance to think about anything. I started out working slow- then when I speed it up they hit. SO try this if you come this weekend. Beaver has good weeds, Flats has good weeds, most of the coves are starting to get some weeds also. Happy Memorial Day and Good Fishin. By the way we got some bulldogs coming anytime, rods, other baits so be sure stop by.

Man what a spring here at Cave Run. This is the coldest I can think of for Memorial Day Weekend. Usually by this time we have 77 degree water temp. already cranking deep timber, but we are still fishing weeds with a water temp of 67 degrees. Don't get me wrong I'm not mad about this. This kind of weather prolongs our season. Weeds are great. Fish are just loaded in them. All the Zilpo area has great weeds, and Beaver Creek also. The baits to throw hasn't changed much at all-except I'm throwing 1oz spinners a little more than I was. They just stoped pulling water out of the lake yesterday (27th) today will let it settle down I exspect tommorrow they will go. I know everybody gets tired of hearing me say they are going to go-hell I get sick of saying that. It's past time to have a run on these fish. We have had 50 different fronts come in here the 30 days. These fish are like me they don't what to do either. If I had to bet on it I would say the rest of week and weekend will great fishing---- if we don't get a whole lot of rain. I've had yesterday off and today prior to those to days I have raised 47 fish in 5 days and only caught 3 of them and had 3 more hooked. This just makes me want to shoot the next one. This is why I say they will go just as soon as everything settles down. Hope this helps everybody out. Also hope everyone had a great Memorial Day. Looking forward to seeing everybody if they are coming down this weekend. We got a new order of Bulldogs in and Burts, Squirrley burts,Little Jointed Erines are on the way ,St. Croix Rods, got just one or two Lakewood Tackle Boxes left some more on the way. So stop in and see us. I hope everyone has great weekend of fishing!!!!

Last night we had a some rain come in. It has raised the lake but not enough that it will hurt anything this will help us out. The fish are starting to go now. Today we had 8 up caught 2 had 1 other hooked and should have caught it but the bait broke off. Sorry that I have to run but I have to get ready for tommorrow. This will keep going for a while. Hope this helps anybody out that is coming this way.

The lake is up right now 7 feet. This will make the fish move in the shallows. Today we got some fish all in the bushes. They will not pull in any water out of the lake for a few days. This will make for some good fishing conditions. All the fish that I moved today where on Spinners 1oz. Yesterday they was going on small Mantas' If you can get out and come I would do so. I got to go. Good Luck to all the PMTT fisherman. Watch out for boat #45 they are do.

I know this is kind of early, but I have to take the oppertunity when I get it for computer time. I guided to today saw 5 fish and caught only one 36". Should have had one more for sure, but my client got tore up. (Hell I did to real nice fish)! Still the same program fishing tight in bushes and shallow. Once they start making head way on drawing the lake down the fishing will be a whole lot better. It's just about 2 feet to high but it's good fishing. This will keep going atleast through next week if not longer. After I get thinking about it this makes 2 days that it has not rained here. (RECORD)!!!! Still the same ole baits. The three footer came on a burt. Hope this helps the people out that might be coming this way.

Posts: 172 Location: Chagrin Falls, Ohio | Hey Justin, I'm thinking about heading down from July 3rd to the 13th. I'm assuming the lake temps are still down from normal and the water a bit high still. If so, do you anticipate the casting bite in the beds to still be strong during that time? Have they started to pulling water hard yet? I'm trying to plan a last minute trip. Thanks for you're time, and good fishin', Tyler Campbell P.S. I was down there the last week of October and crossed paths with you quite a few times. I was in the pewter Triton TR-19 with my girlfriend and we talked briefly at Zilpo.

I was afraid this was going to happen. Straight from winter into summer. It has finally got hot with no RAIN in KY. I think today makes it 3 days in a row with out rain. Right now the lake is up 5' and fell 7 1/2" in the last 24 hr. We have a surface temp at 82-at 10ft. it is 77- and at 25ft. it is 68 degrees. The has got warmer by at least four degrees in the last 4 days. As far as muskie fishing goes it starting to slow down. I'm seeing a fish or two but that's about it. I got one yesterday evening on Depth Raider cranking the points. That was the only thing that I send in 3 hours. I can't believe that the fish did'nt bust open when the water shot up in the bushes. Some store customers and myself caught a few fish but not like I thought it would be. Right now if I was going to fish Cave Run I would throw Depth Raiders, Bill Normans, something that run pretty deep and crank points, or around the Zilpo Flats area. Then when it warms up I would troll. Sorry I have run. If anybody needs anything else I will try to check back in.
