Location: Minneapolis, MN | I SUCK! The only bait I saw fish on was the DDD but apparently they like to strike them only when I'm paying more attention to the buttheads who were trying to swamp my boat all weekend.

Posts: 4266 | First fish of the year on the second trip out. Raised some fish and did some R and D on the new Beaverturds, then popped a fat 46 1/2"er on a 8" HR Shaker. Too much sun. Not enough wind. And those damn FLIES!!!!!! I'm not fishing again until the flies are gone. I'll get a pic up when I get the film back. Nicest fish that I've caught in Vilas County for a long time. Posts: 150 | I got a 45" today on a 10" Jake trolling in 50' of water. It was my first ski trolling and was a blast!! I marked a school of bait fish 25' down and there were two big fish just below them. I made one pass then circled back and got one to hit. I will post a pic tonight. I forgot my digital and had to use a throw away. Thanks to Vince for netting the fish and taking snapping a few pics for me. I got some nice Lund red on my Alumacraft..Looks real purtty!! See ya on the water!! RandyW

Posts: 1023 Location: Lafayette, IN | My son and I blanked on Sat. Right off the bat we had 3 show up but no takers. I had a lazy follow and a missle come after "Firepike" (see my photo album) and my son had his first follow on a bucktail. I fowl hooked a small bass and the other 2 guys we were up there with boated a 24" 'ski and a NICE 38" 14# pike. It was his first fish on artificial bait too! Really cool. We are heading out early tomorrow to take on the Soggy Bottom Boys in Pool Play so, Wish Us Luck! Heaven knows we need it! All in all, it was an awesome all day musky hunt with my son, and the look on his face when he saw the follow.....PRECIOUS! Attachments ---------------- Ken's Pike.jpg (20KB - 157 downloads)

Posts: 743 | Local MI chapter had an outing/contest...24 hour IRONMAN contest...well, i casted for 18 hours straight, expect to pick up a pizza from the delivery guy at the boat ramp (a phone # all musky nuts need plugged into their cell phones is the local pizza shop)...we had several fish over 40" landed...successful event...here's the biggest one i picked up...also got a 36" on friday, some dinks too...and lost a 44 or 45" at the boat...fishing alone can make it tough to land a big fish that hits boatside... tomcat Attachments ---------------- ironman2.jpg (43KB - 187 downloads)

Posts: 1023 Location: Lafayette, IN | Oh yeah, and I saw some guy named "Tom" terrorizing the musky fisherman. He was in a "Tracker" boat, of all things! Who'd be caught in a Tracker? Nice to meet ya, Tomcat! Glad you had a great day. Hopefully Jake and I will have some good news tomorrow night.

Posts: 76 | Finally was out on the water Saturday with a friend. Got a 48, 44, 44, and 38. Lost another low-mid 40 and I lost a big girl (larger than 48) at the boat, :(. Fish seemed to be moving on hair and spinnerbaits. There were a handful of other boats out with one 39" and a smaller fish being caught for the day. Can't wait to get out again soon if the rain goes away.

Posts: 81 Location: Stevens Point, WI | I drove up to Vilas County from Stevens Point for a few hours fishing on Sunday. I boated a 45" and my father-in-law caught a 42" about 20 minutes later. The 5 hours of fishing was definitely worth the 4 hours of driving.

Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Fished Saturday in Oneida County, boated a 34 on a Violent Strike spinner, had many aggressive follows and two tails bit off burning a Slippery Sam Jr. Sworral I drove by your place and saw lot's of vehicles but no boats so I figured everyone was on the water. Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Over 30 fish up and 4 fish lost after hitting the bait. We caught a 46 and a 40-inch with 4 sub-legals. 21 fish up during tournament hours but could not boat one. One was pushing 50 and we had her up twice, 8 over 40-inch in one weedbed. We raised 5 over 40 in one drift, not one was the same fish, too far apart and the boat was drifting fairly quick. I just was pumped to see TEAM 17 stick a fish, they were just outside of us when they stuck it. The whole lake knew they got one, nice to see them score. Great job boys. Scattering Rice was the lake we fished. I will not be back so someone go stick some of those fish. Anyone going that way this weekend? Drop me a e-mail and I will put you on those fish.

Posts: 1438 | Spent the weekend with Worrall and SVL. Had several up between us but only managed a 34". Worrall had a small one too. Had a good weekend with friends that made it worthwhile. Was out Monday evening too. Tried to get something on the front but I think I was a touch late. Had one follow very low and slow. Didn't even see the size, just a shadow lurking deep below. Posts: 1287 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Observations from this past weekend--no shortage of deer in the north, I39 looked like a war zone with all the blood splatters and legs sticking up in the ditches--- the turtles are laying eggs in full force, again many splattered on the roads---the biting and 'friendly' flies are once again out---the fishing is short action with looong dry spells. Had 3 follows and one dink in the boat in a 30 min.span in A.M. and nothing in the next 10 hours.

Posts: 1023 Location: Lafayette, IN | The boy and I were out on Webster at 4:30am Tues for our first round of pool play. 4 showed themselves and only had one taker, a 25 1/2"er. It was in 8' over good weeds and water temps in the mid 70's. Hooked on a BucherTail. The follows came on a 10"Jake (low and slow), a bass plug, and a TM Tail. No scoreable fish but enough to keep us interested. It was the first musky my son had seen boated too. That was exciting. He netted it for me and did a fine job! Hopefully, the Soggy Bottom Boys had a more productive day up north.
