| Any thoughts on the drop of temperature for the St. Clair opener? I heard that the weed growth was a bit behind so far this year. Hopefully this week of 80+ and sun brings those weeds up. I'm excited to get the lines wet! Hopefully it's not a repeat of last opener... Bite was slow.

Location: Detroit River | The weed growth is behind due to the water level being up around a foot or so. Same thing happened in 2012 so I expect a good musky season jigging Bondy Baits on the river. |

| As far as the jigging bite goes, usually when we have a cool spring with a lot of rain (which creates more flow) the bite is real good. Sounds good anyways.... |

As far as the jigging bite goes, usually when we have a cool spring with a lot of rain (which creates more flow) the bite is real good. Sounds good anyways....
Interesting, think I'm going to have to pick up some bondy baits before my trip. Are you usually targeting a certain depth in the rivers, or more just areas of current and the channel edges? I would think jigging for them too deep would not allow for a successful release. |

That sucks Matt. If you're up for some jigging I might be able to get you out the second weekend depending on my buddy's schedule but you'll need an Ontario lic.

| Come on fellas where is the confidence. There are fish to be caught, and that lake is without question the best fishery in the country. Someone, somewhere on that lake had a 20 fish day on the opener last year. Was it you? Who's it going to be this year?

Awesome videos! What colors do you recommend other than the obvious black used in the video?
Black w/purple flake, pearl, & vomit are my must have colors.Root Canal, Bleeding heart & walleye have put a lot of fish in the boat as well. Atomic Dawn & Zug Island have their days. If you find somewhere that has the old discontinued color (perch) then pick it up. I don't have a chartreuse one yet but I did use some Spike-It chartreuse to cover my buddy's old pearl bait & later that day he put 2 in the boat on the same drift.
I know trollers that have had 50 & 60 fish opening days.

Had it not been for the bite-offs I would of had a 20+ musky day this year while I was bass fishing back in early May. 
I know some trollers that have had 50 & 60 fish opening days though most of those fish were in the 30's.

| The first thing I'll be jigging is our Bondy Swim Jig. If you like jigging rapalas this is a good bait to try. Swims in a big circle or figure 8 down deep.
