| a few questions, i want to start making a few bucktails but not sure what size cleveces and wire i need. I want something sturdy similar to whats used in musky mayhem's showgirls (double 8s) but want to make some with smaller size blades to similar to buchertails.
for these size baits what size wire do I need?
can i get away with using one size clevis for both applications?
anyone have a good supplier for these? i was thinking lurepartsonline.
thanks for all of the help! |

Location: SE, WI. | I like Moores lures for components. WIre, .051 for your smaller bucks, .062 for bigger bucks. get the #6 Clevis for your smaller buck tails, and #8's for your DBL 9's and up. CAn use the #6 clevis for both. JD

Location: oswego, il | What JD said. I use 051 for 10 blades too I just don't care for working with 062. I use the second biggest clevis for everything. Lots of suppliers it really depends on how many you want to make whether you buy retail or bulk quality whosale. |

Location: SE, WI. | I hear ya Todd. .062 is a bear to work with. I Use it on my front wire to my splash tails, kind of a pain. BUt, there is a alternative, .055. And .051, thin wire gives you more shake/rattle and roll, to your DCG's! JD

| Anyone willing to sell me the components to make 4 or 5 bucktails so I don't have to buy everything in bulk? I don't really need another hobby but would like to just make a few |
