Posts: 83 Location: North of Sweden! | First off, I am new here, and, to be honest, I have NEVER fished for muskie (sadly), but, that is rather natural as I am from sweden... :D though, for sure, I'd love to one day get my ass over to you and your muskies as they sure look like a bunch of fun. Reason for me finding this board and signing up here is my LOVE of my ABSOLUTE favorite lure; the 9" Suick Thriller, and, well, it is not all that many people in sweden fishing this lure, not that common at least, so, I figured, this board seems to be the place to ask questions (and I have read just about all the threads on here that I could find pertaining to the Thriller). So, what I am wondering about, to begin with at least, is: 1. brand and size of trebles you guys are using for your Suick Thrillers? 2. same but regarding split-rings for the same lure then. So, what do you guys prefer and use? Kind regards /peter

Posts: 291 Location: Minneapolis | Suicks work great for big pike! I have not paid much attention to which hooks I use when I need to cut and replace them. I like Mustad 35656BR 3/0 hooks in general - the wide bend, short shank is nice. I like Bucher split rings or Wolverine triple split rings.

Posts: 1100 | If your from Sweden, take a look at the splittings, lureparts.nl sells, the 5xh, 6xh and 7xh stainless is awesome and super cheap if you buy 100 a a time for Suicks i would go with size 6xh or 7xh. Tight lines from Denmark.

Though, to me 3/0 sounds a bit too small? (small for 9" Suicks that is, sorry if I was not clear about the size of Thriller in my original post), but, perhaps those Mustad 35656BR are "big for their size" so to speak? Will look in to them!

Then this sounds kinda like the perfect hook for me!!! might go for this if I find some around here for a decent price, sounds like I'm gonna wanna go for a 4/0 in the mustad then, should suit me well, I prefer to remove the tail-treble and then I especially like to have a bigger opening treble than the ones that the Thrillers come with originally, so, then judging by your info this model should be great!
