just got one of these. very lucky. i know the star prong sets the drag. i have the prongs pushed all the way and the drag is still peeling line. what am i doing wrong

most likely your line is spinning on the spool arbor. take line off and wrap spool with a couple turns of elec tape (or tie around the little bolt that sticks up out of middle of arbor if it has one) then use an arbor knot, reel repair guys will tell yu prob. over 70% of casting reels with superline on that come in for drag repairs are nothing more.
i "repair" at least one reel a week for clients.
