I was crappie fishing below the Big Creek dam a few weeks back and the DNR was installing a system to monitor fish escaping over the spillway. They said they had radio tagged a few fish and put this system in to see what percentage escape the lake.

Does anybody know if they actually put anything in to stop the fish from going over the dam? Seems like a waste if they hadn't already installed some sort of fence. I mentioned that I had already given up on fishing muskies at BC and he told me to come back in 5 years for good fishing. I'm not holding my breath, but who knows.

There is a gate across the top of the spillway and this year they added electricity to it to prevent smaller fish from going through the gaps. It's working
