| Getting ready to tie up my new TI 10'6" blank.
Question - have never built a musky Rod - do I need to underwrap the guides?
Do factory guides have underwrap ping or just wrap right into the Rod blanks?
I have properly prepped/filed the guide feet btw.
Thanks

Location: Smith Creek | Don't know about TI, but no, you don't need underwraps. |

Location: Detroit River | No need for under wraps. Under wraps are more common with the saltwater guys from what I've seen. I know for a fact that St Croix, TI, & Okuma didn't have them on the rods that I replaced the guides on. |

| I would go with no under wraps. I have built 10 rods or so on TI blanks including a 10' telescopic. The under wraps stiffen up the action a little and add some weight that isn't necessary. I built two with under wraps to see what they would be like then stuck with not using them. |
