| My wife and I are planning a trip to the Phelps area the first week of October. We've never fished Vilas that late in the year, so any advice would be great, including lakes and presentations. In central WI, we primarily fish Suicks and cranks around the remaining green weeds.
Thanks |

Location: Wisconsin | North Twin is the closest water, and certainly the most famous... For good reason. Toss rubber such as bull dawgs and medussas on rocky bars and steep shorelines. Natural colors should be best.
If you're willing to travel a little bit, the Wisconsin river anywhere from watersmeet down to lake Alice will be great that time of year. Topwater, rubber, glide baits and suicks will be the ticket |

Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Lots of good choices in the area. In addition to the Twins: Big Sand, Long, Vieux Desert, and the Cisco chain are all good choices for quality fish. |

| Thanks for the replies. So much great water in the area that it becomes hard to choose. |

| Kentuck lake is a smaller high density lake. Also holds 50 inch fish as well. |
