"Over the hill and through the woods, to Grandmothers house we go"...
***Who can finish this "over the years" cherished Thanksgiving classic, using your musical abilities and mental faculties to facilitate a new fall musky fishing tune? Unfortunately there will no prizes offered, but this is a golden opportunity to share your abilities w/ others, and perhaps attain levels before unknown by yourself and others! Most of us appear to lead boring mundane lives, and this is a chance to focus on that which is really important...creativity is impossible w/out being creative; at what point does one start?

Over the timber and through the weeds, to find big berta we go.
The jake knows the way, to dive and sway

and that's all I got.

Hey muskie--you got the love I need
Maybe more than enough.
Oh Darling... fight a while with me
You've got so much...

Many times I casted - Many times been bitten
Many times I've gazed along the open lake.

Many times I've tied - Many times I'm jerken
Many times I've wondered how much there is to know.

Many dreams come true and some have silver Grandmas
I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold.

Mellow is the man who knows what he's been fishen
Many many men can't see the open road.

Many is a word that only leaves you fishen
Fishen 'bout a thing you really ought to know, ooh!
You really ought to know...

"Way up the river, and by the woods,

My Granmother (Grandma) bait I'll throw.

The boat throws some spray, and I'm off to play,

heading to the spot I know."

"Over the river I slowly troll, the current gently flows.

She slowly rose and hooked her nose,

then back in the drink she goes!"

...that's all!

If I fish here tomorrow
Will you still remember me?
I must be boatin on now
'Cuz I think I just hooked a jet ski
If I fish here with you now
The boat warden will get my name
And I'll be free as a jailbird, yeah
Now my muskie lure I must cha-a-ange.

I tried. m

Over the river to the Lake of the Woods to

Grandmother Muskie's House we go

We'll endure cold trends, and northeast winds,

With snow flurries that will blow:

Gortex, and fleece; and ragwool we'll wear

To ward off the icy blow

Ice in the guides may force us to troll

But we'll be happy as we fish while there

A thump on a glider or 'ripper' on the reel

Will herald the bite we seek

This isn't a trip for the weak of spirit

The fragile or fair weathered meek.

The pictures we take of the monsters we wake

And manage to net this trip

Will hold us 'till Spring through this Damnable "Winter" thing

And allow us to keep a good grip.

Maybe. As long as there are Muskie Shows, that is. Mudanes rule!!!

Over the river and through the woods
Its walleyes I'm after you know
I cast out a jig
to hook a big pig
and win me some tournament goods!

Fishing the river or in the lake
Big walleyes have sharp teeth as well
When you hook into one
its still can be fun
Full tommies because they taste great

But when that musky does rise
Will not share in my prize
In panic I'll reel
so that musky won't feel
Its only a walleye disguise

On the boat I stand,
With rod in hand,
With musky revenge in mind.

I cast all day,
I will not stray,
Realizing I'm now in a bind.

My time is ending,
My rods not bending
and my girl won't show for the fight.

I grab my Jake,
The one they don't make,
And throw it with all of my might.

I twitch it twice,
It looks so nice,
And here comes her big tail.

I get the look,
I set the hook.
Driven hard as a nail.

Now I sit,
I've thrown my fit.
"Why did my line have to blow?"

My Jake is gone,
What did I do wrong.
and off to work I go.
