Hello everyone, I've been thinking about starting to paint my own baits for a new past time. Do any of you have suggestions on a good airbrush gun or kit? Thanks a ton! I'm looking forward to learning how to do this!!

It depends on your budget.  The two below are proven systems and are at opposite ends of the spectrum.  I have both of those airbrushes and they work well

I'd practice just laying paint down on cardboard or whatever just to get accustomed to using the airbrush. Once you get used to it, start painting baits, it can save you a little money and frustration if you don't like how the pattern turns out the first couple times...

Thank you for the advice. I plan to get accustomed to the gun and will try to paint some small bass lures first and then will transition over to bigger baits. I'll let you all know what I decide to purchase!

Get used to cleaning the brush after every color and if the previous color was opaque it takes even more effort. That was my biggest issue when I first started painting was not thinning out the opaque colors and lack of cleaning between colors. My first baits weren't pretty but every bait seems to get easier and looks better.

I made a couple purchases today. Bought a Iwata Neo after talking to a couple other people. Can't wait to start painting. Was painting a bit on some cardboard but that's as far as I've gotten so far.
I'll post a picture of the start of my booth in the basement if I can figure out how to attach pictures.
