| The Salmo fishing lure company makes two lures that caught my attention. The Fatso and pikie. I bought the pikie and have not tried it yet over my favorite weededge, the fatso is on the way, because no store I knew of had it in stock. I was really curious if any of you anglers have used any of these two baits? -and have you produced fish?[:sun:]
p.s. does the fatso swim like a Reef Hawg, or Eddie? |

| The Fatso swims unlike most baits in your box. I have one and I've gotten a couple muskies on it. The only complaint is that it's a HEAVY bait, tough to get a hook set with and it's easy for the muskie to throw. Make sure that you don't pressure the fish too much and make it jump cuz if you do, that one's history, just about guaranteed.
The only serious complaint that I have with the lure is that after a couple of muskies, the finish is falling off.

| I haven't tried a Fatso, but have had good success with the Pikie. Yes, the finish is beat up, and I had to reglue the lip, but that damage was all caused by numerous fish, and the lure still works fine![:)] |

| these fatso's are hot!!!!!!! We caught loads of big pike on them over here when the season opened over here. They run no deeper than 1m when trolling them 20m behind the boat, but we troll them just 5m behind so we see the pike charge it. Really hot but the finish is not hard enough. After two or three big pike they start to take water. Haven't caught on these pike-colored yet. I prefer suicks for diving jerkbaits. The salmo fatso's produce more trophy fish when trolling then when catsing. You can cast them out and crank 'em back. Really nice wobble! Over here they are sold at 10$ a piece, haven't got an idea about the US price but every tiny store sells them. |
